Our miscellaneous auto services include:
Most Extended Warranties Accepted
An extended warranty (also known as a service contract) can provide peace of mind to most car buyers. The warranty (or service contract) kicks in after the usual manufacturer warranty has expired. An extended warranty covers major breakdowns and evens out the cost of repairs. Unfortunately, not all auto repair shops accept extended warranties. At John's Automotive Service in Cedar Rapids, IA 52405, we accept most extended warranties. We let you use the service contract to save on auto repair costs.
After-Hours Drop Off
Sometimes auto repair needs arise long after most auto repair shops have closed (most auto repair shops close at 6 pm). With after-hours drop off services, you leave your car at the mechanics shop for repair even if the shop has closed. You simply fill out an envelope, put in your keys, and drop it in a drop box. The auto shop will only contact you when your car is ready or when they need additional information. At John's Automotive Service, we value your convenience and that is why we offer after-hours drop off services. A completed Drop-Off Form will help the mechanic diagnose any problems. Even if we have closed, you just drop-off your vehicle at our shop and our mechanics will work on it and contact you when it is ready.
Free Local Pickup and Delivery with Repairs By Appointment
In certain circumstances, auto shops offer pickup and delivery services. This is whereby the auto shop picks up the vehicle at your work place or home, works on it, and delivers it after it is fully repaired and serviced. This saves you time and money. The p/u and delivery service can be either free or paid for. At John's Automotive Service, we offer free local pickup and delivery whereby we routinely pick up your car from your home or workplace. We want to make the task of having that car repaired/serviced as stress free as possible. This service is subject to appointment.
Free Local Shuttle Service with Repairs By Appointment
When you drop your car at our garage for repair and servicing, you don't always have the time to wait until we've finished servicing your car. To get your busy life going on, we offer free local shuttle services. At John's Automotive Service in Cedar Rapids, IA 52405, we offer free local shuttle services to our customers. This service allows you to conveniently go back to your day's routine as we work on your vehicle - you don't have to wait at the shop. This service is by appointment.

Wheel bearings are found inside of wheels, allowing the wheels to spin freely, and are connected to the brake system. They can become worn over time, causing a vibrating suspension and noisy rubbing as the car is driven. If they break completely, the vehicle will become very difficult to control and unsafe to drive. Replacement interval for wheel bearings varies greatly, but they should be checked for leaks and wear periodically. John's Automotive Service can make sure that your bearings are in good shape and let you know if they need replacement.
Hubs, Seals, Studs, & Nuts
A wheel hub motor, also referred to as a wheel motor, is an electric motor incorporated into the wheel hub and drives it directly. You can have a safer and smoother ride today by replacing your warped and worn out wheel hubs. Let John's Automotive Service replace your worn out hubs today.
Properly working seals provide oil and grease sealing - offering enhanced performance in a wide range of temperatures and environments. Worn out or warped seals allow external contaminants to enter the bearing unit or let lubricant escape from the unit. This ultimately leads to premature failure of the bearing unit. To keep out contamination and retain lubricant in the bearings, have the seals replaced with new ones. To have the seals replaced by experts, contact or visit John's Automotive Service today.
Studs are the threaded fasteners that hold on the wheels of your truck. The wheel studs are permanently mounted on the wheel hub through the brake disk or brake drum. To secure the wheel, nuts (lug nuts) are fastened over the stud. Stripped wheel studs can be quite dangerous. Damaged wheel studs should be replaced with new ones immediately. To have your truck's wheel studs replaced with high quality ones, call 319-396-4206 or visit John's Automotive Service today.
A wheel nut or lug nut is a fastener for securing a wheel on the hub. A set of lug nuts are used to secure a wheel to the threaded wheel studs (which are fixed to a wheel hub). Worn out nuts means one thing - the wheel is not fixed securely on the vehicle which puts the vehicle at the risk of rolling over. To have your truck's wheels securely fastened to the hub, contact or visit John's Automotive Service in Cedar Rapids, IA 52405 today.
The experts at John's Automotive Service can inspect your vehicle and perform services that can help it operate at peak performance and help improve fuel efficiency and overall fuel economy. These inspections and services may include items such as:

Great people and great service! Would recommend to anyone!
Great place to take your vehicle if you are looking for trust worthy service at a very competitive price. The staff is reliable, honest, prompt, and most importantly, knowledgeable. I have serviced my car here several times now and will continue to come back in the future because of their quality service and friendly atmosphere.
As usual, the service is excellent, the prices are very good, and the information provided is always right on target. I have never had anyone there try to sell me anything I didn''t need. I have been a customer for a number of years. For as long as I am able to drive, I will always depend on John's Auto Service.
I've been a long time customer. Business as usual. Staff took the time to get an accurate diagnosis without guessing.
I do enjoy the rewards of being a car club member at John's Automotive! I actually left John"s Auto and I didn't have to get my card out to pay the bill. It was all covered by my Car Club membership. It pays to be loyal customer at John"s Automotive. I have received excellent care car!
I've been going to John's Automotive Service for about 5 years and have always been treated with respect. Bob, Al and the team do what repairs are required and do not try to up-sell you on things that are not needed. I do a lot of my own repair work, but I take it to John's when I need added expertise, special tools or just don't want to do it.
The team at John's Automotive are knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. They always leave me feeling that they have my best interests at heart. Never fun to spend money on car repairs but it helps when you know you are getting value.
As always, John's Auto provided the quality service I have come to expect from them. They finish on time and in budget. I love the use of their loaner car as well. No upselling of additional services, but they will keep an eye on possible needs in the future.
I absolutely love the people and service at John's Automotive Service. They are friendly, thorough, fair, and honest. They work around my schedule and always help to make sure I'm getting the best deal. They have an outstanding rewards program. I would highly recommend John's to anyone needing anything from minor to major repairs and service.
I can only give John's Automotive five stars for their service. They're knowledgeable, they are patient in explaining what and why I need work on my vehicle. They don't look at me or talk to me like I'm just a female, and not worth their time. They are people friendly, which is also important to me. Last fall they even went above and beyond 'the call of duty'. After they had finished working on my truck, I rode my recumbent trike to their shop to pickup the truck. I had just bought the transport rack and was still learning how to load the trike. They volunteered to help me get the trike loaded. As a matter of fact, one of the mechanics even helped adjust the rack to fit the trike better. Some places would just say ... To bad: it's your problem. Not the personnel at John's ... They wanted to make sure both I and my trike were safe. My father has been gone for years and my brothers and son do not live close. It is really nice to feel secure in the fact that I have mechanics who will give me good advice without taking advantage of me and at the same time, give me qualîty work that they stand behind. Thanks to all personnel at John's Automotive.
